Abstract
This article is based on a talk given to the participants of the NATO Advanced Study Institute on Physics and Computer Science. It introduces some key concepts in Computer Science intended mainly for a non specialist and illustrates them on aparticular topic of generating languages. Thesecond part, bringing results on g-systems can be of interest also to specialists.
