The digital era is one of important change that continues to affect our lives. Efficient management of information has become crucial, and the initial prerequisite for this is digitalization. After that, the storage procedure is of the utmost importance, not only because of the time taken to record information, but also regarding the time it takes to get the result of any query. Modern high-level programming languages allow us to save digital data in many ways, and to take advantage of the hardware itself and its configuration to provide data redundancy, which may prevent the loss of information in the event of any disaster. A related issue is that of information arrangement in order to speed up the answering of any question. The time required to do a full scan of the data also needs to be efficient and at the same time very scalable. There are a number of recent state-of-the-art papers dealing with the digital era [1], also referred to by some as the digital age.
The conference series Digitalization and Management Innovation (DMI) completed its first edition with DMI2022. We are proud of this, and of the fact that this event will now become an annual one.
The general topics of the 2022 International Conference on Digitalization and Management Innovation (DMI2022) are classified into three main areas: 1) digital technology, 2) innovation and business models, and 3) algorithms for management, research issues and applications. The first thematic line encompasses, among others, digital transformation, era, and talent. The second includes supply chains, business models, and block chain. The third aggregates enterprises, banking, and sustainability.
Apart from these general topics, DMI2022 attracted some hot topics, including but not limited to policy in artificial intelligence, leadership, the gig economy, the post-epidemic era, green supply, citizenship behaviour, human resource management, human relationships, agriculture, and environmental matters. Basic resources like water are covered, as are information technology and transmission, the platform economy and commitment, and innovation in online education management.
Hosted and organized by the Business School of Beijing Wuzi University, the DMI2022 conference was held on 26 November 2022 as a hybrid event. The most popular topics in this book concern management, and digital subjects such as transformation, business and different kinds of chain.
All papers were conscientiously reviewed by programme committee members, who bore in mind the breadth and depth of the research topics falling within the scope of DMI. From some 190 submissions, the 65 most promising and FAIA mainstream-relevant contributions are included in this book, resulting in an acceptance rate of 34.21%. These papers present original ideas or results of general significance, supported by clear reasoning, and compelling evidence and methods.
We would like to thank all the keynote and invited speakers, as well as the authors and conference organising committee members, for their efforts in making DMI a high-standard conference. We are also very grateful to all those, especially the technical programme committee members and anonymous reviewers, who devoted their time to the assessment of the papers. It is an honour to start from the beginning with the publication of these proceedings in the prestigious series Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications (FAIA) from IOS Press. Our particular thanks also go to the FAIA series editors N. Guarino, J.N. Kok, R. López de Mántaras, J. Liu, R. Mizoguchi, M. Musen, S.K. Pal and N. Zhong, for supporting this conference.
