PCIe is the common way for integrating high-speed interconnects and manycore accelerators into cluster nodes. In this paper we describe a zero copy approach for communicating between two PCIe devices involving shared DMA memory buffers. Furthermore, we show the requirements for transferring data directly between two PCIe devices without using the main memory of the host computer. We included the support for direct device communication into our PDA (Portable Driver Architecture) which is a library for implementing user-space drivers.
