In the scope of a research project testing methods for grouting materials are investigated at Vienna University of Technology. Based on extensive laboratory testing of cement-based grouts new laboratory tests and quality criteria have been developed with the objective to improve the state of the art of quality assurance. The new methods comprise the most important values such as viscosity, yield value, initial set, and gelation time. Based on these new methods general investigations on cement-based grouts were undertaken to improve the understanding of the rheological and mechanical behavior of different grouting materials. The results of investigations and in particular the developed laboratory tests will be presented and discussed in the paper.
