Abstract

This paper describes a User Centered Design driven development of a system for modern digital home based on the ISO/IEC 24752 standard: Universal Remote Console – URC. The primary target group – elderly users – has problems accepting certain devices and their respective user interfaces. We show that certain user interfaces are acceptable despite the fact that they convey a complex set of functionalities in a modern digital home.
