Abstract

Modern electronics uses about 60% of all the elements of Mendeleev's table. Many of them are quite rare and even very rare. The depletion of the existing resources could become a real threat in the very near future. We cannot completely eliminate the threat of resources depletion. We can only remove it by recycling, substituting rare metals, and by increasing the life-time of products …  It requires a new way of thinking and a new way of product designing.
