The present paper cumulates the preoccupations of the author regarding virtual instrumentation solutions for AC drive applications. A virtual instrumentation platform, based on DS 1104 System, with further upgrade possibilities was created. The main attempts are permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive and induction motor (IM) drive applications. Original machines and drives models for both scalar and vector controlled applications has been created and optimized by numerical simulations using the Matlab-Simulink (MAT-SIM) computer programming. The concept of wireless control electric drive, introduced by the author in this paper and qualified like a quasi-sensorless control method [1], it's also presented.
