Three methods to assess axial rotation in 149 patients have been applied. The level of maximal axial surface rotation as measured by die Quantec Spinal Image system (QSIS) was 0.5 vertebra lower than that identified by the Perdriolle in AP X-ray. The QSIS is 3.1° lower in axial thoracic rotation and 3.6° higher in axial lumbar rotation as compared to the radiographic methods. There was no significant difference when comparing the scoliometer with the Perdriolle.
