Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the full integration of a wearable fall detector into a comprehensive home control network, as an effective way to reduce implementation costs and to improve the service functionality. Instead of accounting for a stand-alone fall-detection system, we consider the detector as a component of a wider, multi-functional wireless sensor network, used to implement different home services and integrated in a home monitoring system.
