A great deal has been written on Inclusive Design and its attempts to make commercial products accessible to as many people as possible. To do this the emphasis is on creating designs that promote accessibility and usability without the need for any special adaptation to the product. This paper will take the approach of starting with the special needs products and making them as ‘inclusive’ as possible to the commercial market. The paper will then go on to detail the design guidelines drafted for a small company that specialises in special needs bathroom design and examples of the implementation of these guidelines through case studies.
