This paper describes the comparison of load capacities derived from static and dynamic load tests on a precast driven pile in a tropical soil of the Mid West region of Brazil. The driven pile is typical of those used in some areas of this large region for the supporting system from bridge foundations. Both tests were carried out in 2007 during a Dissertation research of the University of Brasília. The dynamic instrumentation was obtained with the PDA (Pile Driving Analyzer) device, and analyzed with the numerical programs CASE (Case Institute of Technology) and CAPWAP (Case Pile Wave Analysis Program). The static load test was carried out after the dynamic one, in the same driven pile. The comparison of extrapolated results showed a very good agreement, encouraging the further usage of these techniques in the region.
