This study aims to investigate the effects of five factors, including job satisfaction, self-efficacy, work environment, remuneration package, and work-life balance, on the occupational well-being of counselors in private colleges in Guangdong, China. Through an online questionnaire survey, counselors with 2 years of work experience were randomly selected as a sample, and 229 questionnaires were distributed, with 201 validly recovered. After analyzing the data using SPSS 24.0 software, the results showed that all the five factors mentioned above affect the occupational well-being of counselors. Based on this, this study proposes a series of multidimensional enhancement strategies, including clarifying the role positioning of counselors, optimizing the workflow and content, strengthening professional training to enhance self-efficacy, reasonably adjusting remuneration packages, and advocating and promoting work-life balance. At the same time, it is suggested that private colleges in Guangdong should build a comprehensive and systematic policy system, improve the incentive mechanism, create a positive campus cultural atmosphere, and continue to pay attention to the personal needs and growth of counselors, to comprehensively enhance counselors’ occupational well-being and sense of belonging.
