Integrating Patient Generated Health Data (PGHD) from wearable devices into Electronic Health Records (EHRs) presents important challenges, such as data quality assurances, validation and authentication, interoperability, privacy, and usability. These issues require a collaboration strategy among key stakeholders, including healthcare organizations, technology vendors, politicians, and patients. This study discusses the main challenges and proposes a collaborative approach to tackle these issues, such as standardization, knowledge sharing on interoperability, data governance frameworks, and pilot projects or prototyping. In addition, it mentions the involvement of patients in designing and evaluating PGHD integration, ensuring solutions are patient-centric and aligned with stakeholder needs.
