Standard-essential patents are an important means to effectively promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the field of industrial design into real productivity, and enhance the amplification effect of manufacturing industry chain. Through analyzing the current situation, characteristics and problems of patents in industrial design industry and the current situation of standards, this paper studied the necessity and feasibility of establishing a standard-essential patent regime in China’s industrial design industry.
