In order to promote the “slow moving” system, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and achieve the healthy development of low-carbon economy, this article conducted a survey on slow moving roads in the core area of Tianhe District, Guangzhou. Using GIS technology combined with UCINET and SPSS software, according to the purpose and characteristics of optimizing the continuity of slow moving networks, node degrees, intermediate numbers, and the clustering analysis results of the three centrality indicators of compactness serve as the basis for the importance classification of slow traffic roads in the core area of Tianhe District, Guangzhou, thus constructing a method model for optimizing the continuity of slow traffic networks. By combining the research example of Tianhe District in Guangzhou, the operability of the optimization model is further demonstrated, providing theoretical support and design guidance for the continuous optimization and transformation of slow traffic systems in Guangzhou and other cities.
