To solve the problem of the image defogging Algorithm through dark channels proposed by He Kaiming which is too complicated to implement in hardware. This article introduced an improvement to the original algorithm and transplantation to the FPGA-based hardware systems. We discussed the three main modules including the module of dark channel processed and the estimation of atmospheric light, the module of edge detection and filtering and the module of image restoration in the algorithm implementation process. The Experimental showed good results in the restoration work of outdoor acquisition images. The output images quality is also significantly improved.
