This paper presents a study on simulation technology and structural optimization of the double rocker arm ground derrick. Firstly, it analyses the difficulties and risks of tower installation in high-altitude mountainous areas, and determines the typical load combinations for the derrick, including wind load, self-weight load, hoisting load, eccentric load caused by hoisting load, unbalanced load, as well as the load on the boom and pole due to traction wire rope when the boom plane angle is 45 degrees. Then, based on the constraints of the existing double rocker arm ground derrick in tower installation at high-altitude areas, a structural optimization design study for the ground-based double rocker arm derrick is conducted. The optimized parameters for the double rocker arm ground derrick are proposed, and simulation verification is performed. The research results can be used as guidance for the design and application of double rocker arm ground derrick.
