Effects of shear stress history on yielding characteristics of dense Toyoura sand are investigated. The yielding behavior in p'-constant plane is characterized, especially at small strain level, by introducing two sub yield surfaces Y1 and Y2 inside the conventional large-scale yield surface, Y3.
