Abstract

The proposed paper is aimed at presenting the results of an extensive analysis of sixteen full-scale horizontal piles loading tests in a diversity of soil conditions (2 sandy sites, 3 clayey sites and 1 silty site). It was shown the existence of fundamental relationships between the P-Y curve parameters, the measured PMT parameters and the lateral pile/soil stiffness Kr. Comparison between the experimental load-deflection behaviour of test piles and the predicted ones according to these relationships showed very good agreement in sandy soils as well as in clayey soils.
