NHS Direct is enabling patient and citizen opportunities for fast access to information by using 24 hour telephone call centres, the web, digital interactive tv and public touch screen kiosks. This multi‐channel strategy is based on the principle of providing people with maximum choice in the route by which they access information, with the assurance of consistent high quality information whichever channel they choose.
