The research work presented here focuses on the analysis of energy consumption in the machining of aluminium alloy Al-6061 T6, which is an extensively used alloy in the manufacturing industry. Full factorial experimental plan was utilized for orthogonal machining of AL-6061 T6 to investigate the effect of machining parameters (cutting speed and feed) on the energy consumed and energy efficiency of the machining process. The analysis of results revealed a strong correlation between energy consumed and the cutting parameters (feed and speed). The Material Removal Rate (MRR) also showed good correlation with different cutting conditions and power consumed by the machine tool.
