As a typical difficult to cut material, it is easy to produce the defects in the drilling process for Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP), but the quality of hole-making plays an important role in the aviation field, so the study on the hole-making of CFRP arises extensive concern in recent years. In order to finish the high-quality hole machining of CFRP, helical milling experiments were conducted in the machining center about CFRP materials, the hole-making quality after helical milling process is analyzed used delamination factor, the relationships between cutting forces, including tangential and axial cutting forces and entry delamination factors are discussed, and inner delamination state is investigated in detail using ultrasonic C-scan methods.
