Winding vibration is one of the most important sources of power transformer vibration and noise. Modelling the winding vibration is essential for understanding transformer vibration characteristics. In this paper, the winding is represented as coupled-ring structures. A hollow cylinder with orthogonal anisotropic modulus is used to model the winding structure. Experiment and simulation are performed on five winding structures for their vibration response to the point force excitation. Parameters of equivalent model for the winding structures are analysed and discussed. This equivalent model may help on the study of winding structure vibration and transformer noise control.
