With the rapid digitalisation in the aerospace industry, the emergence of Digital Twin (DT) is significant as it can facilitate the urgent need of data-driven optimisations in existing products, operations and services. Data management for a novel concept like DT is new for both academia and industry. In this paper, an efficient data management approach for DT is proposed for behavioural analysis of an in-service asset based on ontologies and data modelling. A DT ontology model is proposed to capture and model the conceptual knowledge of the domain. The ontology model is further transformed into relational data models. The results are captured through a case study in terms of minimum data structure required that can be used to create and manage data for DT. With this approach, data modellers and developers should be able to design and maintain- data and databases better and more integrated for DT.
