Quality and cost of software localization for an organization may vary from software to software due to time and models of developing, target users, applied fields, regional variations, language variations and methods of translation. The software company in this case is an ERP and ERP II vendor that holds a dominant market share in the Greater China. They also expand their business to Southeast Asia. As a 30-year-old company, they are facing software localization issue at all times. The study of this research illustrated a multilingual management process that using string-edit distance metric to suggest appropriate terminology and establishing a terminology repository system to auto-translate terminologies needed in different software. The process helps maintain software interface consistency yet continuously to increase their software development productivity.
