This paper intends to use image processing technology to develop the vision-based virtual keyboard. The proposed system uses a camera, a paper panel keyboard and the detection of user's hand gestures on the paper keyboard to achieve the input operation. The camera captures and analyzes the behavior of the user's hand gestures, which is a new noncontact input method. The experimental results show that the system is robust enough.
