The higher resources needed to provide a service portfolio that responds to the rapid growth of an aging population is a concern for many governments of developed countries. The paper explores the convergent insights of three conceptual frameworks to identify where age-aware eGovernment is more likely to be developed effectively. The authors show how the social and relational capital of the Italian “industrial districts” make them ideal settings, receptive to the implementation of age-aware eGovernment services, thanks to both the innovative mindset of the business communities and their rich social capital.
