The paper is devoted to dielectrics from more standpoints. A practical method for dielectric constant determination with fully unknown dielectric properties is given. Particular attention is paid to the influence of dielectric fillings in the crack in metals and the processes of defects detection in dielectrics and metals are compared. The ability of microwaves to detect a conductive object under the dielectric surface has been demonstrated by a practical example.
