We have developed a virtual laparoscopic surgical simulator and gathered data during student trial runs. The students performed simulated surgical dissections from 3 pairs of port positions with angles between the cutting and grasping instruments set to 60, 90, and 120 degrees.
Preliminary data indicates improved performance at the 90 degree angle.
