In The Netherlands guidelines for General Practitioners (GPs) have been developed to meet the needs of quality assurance and expertise improvement. The development of the decision support program RAP to promote dissemination and implementation of these guidelines in general practice was facilitated by the uniform concept behind these guidelines. Definition of different reasoning methods using that uniform concept was simplified and the reasoning methods became highly transparent for system developers and -users.
In previous papers the emphasis was on the evaluation of the program. This paper focuses on the reasoning strategies.
