This study deals with the survey of a gully erosion located on Federal University of São João Del-Rei (UFSJ) campus, Ouro Branco city, Minas Gerais state, Brazil, performed by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry. The erosive process caused the block an access road to the campus, which does not present traffic conditions anymore. The use of UAV photogrammetric images for the evaluation and monitoring of erosion allows the recognition of the affected area through the reconstruction of the terrain by high resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEMs). In addition, the UAV increases safety on operation and data collection, enabling easier access to hazardous areas. The methodological procedures of the study took a phase of aerial image collection and then ground control points (GCP) acquaintance in the gully erosion area, followed by data processing, which culminated in the generation of DEM and orthomosaic. From the DEM, using geoprocessing tools, the volume of soil loss was estimated by the erosive process in comparison to the terrain in its original topography, resulting in approximately 19 thousand cubic meters. The survey carried out proved to be practical, accurate and efficient in the generation of results, evidencing the potentialities of the technique.
