In this paper a geotechnical characterization of former Texcoco Lake subsoil is presented. The analysis consists of a detailed study of the spatial distribution of the subsoil geotechnical properties such as resistance (qc) in CPT and shear wave velocity (VS) applying the univariate (kriging) and multivariate (cokriging) geostatistical methodologies. When using multivariate geostatistics, the linear correlation between some geotechnical properties with a large number of data available (qc) and parameters with a few number of data (VS) is taken advantage of to estimate punctually the values of these parameters using minimum variance estimators (cokriging).
