As a new-type structure, the ultra-small spacing tunnel with large section has shown its adaptability and superiority gradually. Engineering practices indicate that the mechanical characteristic of inter-space rock is especially complicated due to the constructing impaction. By using general finite element analysis software, an elasto-plastic simulation model was established. The tunnel mechanical characteristic of inter-space rock under different strengthening projects has been researched. According to the comparison analysis of rock displacement and internal force of support respectively, some proposal of reinforcement area and construction method was put forward. In bad rock, the upper part of inter-space rock is one of the worst places of stress state, where the reinforcement should be put much emphasis on. The result shows that strengthening by advanced grouting using small duct for pre reinforcement at upper part of inter-space rock can dramatically improve the integral stability of tunnel based on conventional support. Finally, the monitoring data in practical tunnel engineering were analyzed, and the strengthening method was proved to be reasonable in weak rock. The research conclusions presented can be adopted in the design and construction of similar tunnel engineering.
